Bethune College is recruiting Class Representatives for Fall and Year courses.
Class Representative (CR) Program
This program is designed to strengthen the ties between students and course directors/instructors, to help students get more engaged and to help students perform better in their courses.
If you are in a first or second year course within the Faculty of Science or Lassonde School of Engineering please consider applying.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Meet with the course director/instructor on a need-to basis to discuss feedback received from classmates.
Organize study groups; coordinate timings with Peer Tutors and book study rooms as necessary
Keep accurate records of study group attendance and other interactions; write a reflective summary of duties performed at the end of the semester.
Make class announcements regarding any events/workshops/seminars organized by Bethune College.
Attend biweekly meetings with fellow CRs and the CR Program Coordinator.
Assist with the recruitment of new Peer Leaders (New CRs especially)
NOTE: If CRs miss two meetings, they will have to attend a Time Management Workshop. If CRs miss three meetings, they will forfeit their roles
Mandatory Training and Events
- Basic Peer Leadership Training → 9 am - 5 pm on Sunday, September 24th.
- CR Training → immediately following BPL; 5 pm – 6pm on Sunday, September 24th.
- NOTE: Failure to attend the mandatory training sessions may disqualify the candidate.
How to Apply
You will need to provide your RESUME and Personal Statement outlining why you want to be a CR. Save both documents into one PDF file and title it with your FULL NAME – DATE
(E.g. MARY JAMES – June 20_2017).
NOTE: Candidates will be notified of their application status by the evening of Monday, June 26th.
