Candidates

President

Adam Brihmi
I believe that with all of my experience, from Bethune Athletics Committer executive member to Vice-President of Athletics to Orientation-Chair to President of Bethune College Council makes me the best candidate for this position. I am very hard working as I always ensure to put in 100% to any council task I am working on. I am always checking up on all other members of council and offering help whenever needed. Especially with the new Student Choice Initiative that will affect the Bethune College Council Levy this upcoming year, I have developed a plan to ensure Bethune College would remain financially stable and am ready to help put it into effect if re-elected. Bethune college has been a huge part of my university experience since my first year at university and I have used my experience around the community to consistently keep providing more to its constituents as I have this year. Email me at adam.brihmi@gmail.com for more information about my platform.

Executive Vice-President

Syed Naqvi
Being on Bethune college council for 3 academic years, I believe I can bring the necessary changes and ideas that would make the common rooms and the council office for Bethune affiliates even more accessible and entertaining. Another important duty for this position is to oversee the internal compositions and operations of BCC, and this can be achieved by having a proper transition for all of the council members and a summer training where all the duties and jobs are designated and gone over in the constitution. Fitting office hours and cleaning schedules will be heavily implemented so the council members are available for the constituents needs.

VP Athletics

Zain Ali I would like to run for Bethune Athletics in order to continue bringing students the opportunity to get involved, stay active and relieve stress. Bethune has always been a great and healthy environment that gives people the energy to stay motivated and provide sports and recreational events. I Believe my 2 years on the Bethune Athletic council including my year as an executive has provided me with the skills and requirements needed to be VP athletics.

Olga Jankovic Hey, I’m Olga Jankovic and I’m a first year student in Bethune College running to be one of your general members! As a first-year student I’ve felt very accepted and have been very active in the Bethune community, and I believe that we should make each constituent feel like this. Running for this position for me means trying to advocate for the students voices and bringing up new ideas to the council. Already being familiar with most of the council and the newly amended constitution will help me be more prepared for this position and will hopefully make for a fun year!
Nicholas Matthias I have been apart of bethune for 3 years now and I've always wanted to be apart of something bigger than myself. I feel that council is also a great way to be apart of the bethune community; aiding in organization of events and trips, bake sales and clothing sales are wonderful ways of bringing life to bethune which is why i would want to be apart of council as a general member
Leena Muti
Running for my student council is a great way of getting involved with the college community, and an experience that benefits both council and candidate with a fresh perspective from a fellow first-year. I believe in a council that is representative and, most importantly, balanced - as all things should be.
Pooja Natali A student organization can be a great way to get involved and make new friends. As I see it, it can also provide many opportunities to enhance leadership, cooperation and interpersonal skills, which I can carry further on into the future. Being a student leader feels so rewarding. There is nothing like sharing your experience and putting a hopeful smile on someone’s face.
Disha Patel Joining the student council gives you the opportunity to excel. As a member, I could bring a variety and well-rounded list of traits and talents. Giving me the chance to develop my public speaking skills - allow my opinion to be heard by every corporation. I will also be able to work as part of a team - valued by every corporation. Lastly I strongly believe that you should be a part of your school and not just sit on the sidelines.
Melisa Rrashkadolli I want to run for general member because I want to give back to the Bethune community. I have a lot of ideas for the upcoming school year which I hope to bring forth if elected for this position. I am organized, responsible, and effortful. Any task given to me, I complete to the best of my ability. I believe there's the potential to make a lot of change to some things around our college community and I want to be there to help implement those changes and bring forth my own ideas.
Klara Rrashkadolli I want to run for the position of general member because I am a hardworking individual who truly cares about my college and its constituents. My organizational skills and team work skills will allow me to work hand in hand with the execs and assist the VP social and VP finance with anything they need. I am an active member in the Bethune community and feel my skills would be very helpful in the Bethune College Council.
Noam Sibony Hey everybody, my name is Noam and I'm a Biophysics student here at York! I want to be your General Member representative on the Bethune College Council because it'll give me an opportunity to give back to the Bethune community and add my input to improve our faculty/college wherever I can! I've always been involved in student life and leadership, being a current Executive of the Biophysics Club this past year as one example, so I'd like to provide an experienced student voice to the council for advisement and constructive input on ways we can improve moving forward. I'd appreciate your support and I hope we can work together next year!
