Student Orientation at York consists of two parts: York Orientation Day (which includes Bethune's Academic Orientation and is mandatory), and Social Orientation (a.k.a. Froshweek) which is optional.
York Orientation Day/Academic Orientation
We want you to have a smooth transition to university life; therefore we have planned this orientation to help you succeed at York. We will introduce you to the academic services, social activities, recreational activities and facilities available to you, both at Bethune College and throughout the University. We want to help you make connections. We want you to feel at home.
When is on Tuesday Sept 8, from 9 am to 5 pm. Please try to arrive 30 minutes earlier to sign in.
Cost York Orientation Day/Academic Orientation is free including lunch.

DragonWeek is Bethune College’s Social Orientation/Froshweek and runs from Saturday Sept 5 until Sunday Sept 13.
Parent and Family Orientation
Please join us for the University Parent & Family Orientation Program on Saturday September 5th at 10 am at Vari Hall (building #30 on campus map). Learn how your son/daughter or family member can smoothly transition into university life. This comprehensive, half-day session will include a welcome from President Dr. Mamdouh Shoukri and provide relevant information about York's student services.
After the central Parent and Family Orientation come to Life Sciences Building room 103 at 1 pm for a light lunch and an introduction to the college system and the academic services, social activities, recreational activities and facilities available to your son/daughter at Bethune College.
Residence Move-In Day for new students is also on Saturday September 5th.
